If the problem of Cockroaches is nauseating, Rats in Trains are a danger for passengers. On the
night of 27 th June, a passenger travelling by Nellai Super Fast Express suffered a ‘rat bite’. He
woke up screaming with ear bleeding at 2.30am. His family members comforted him and alerted
the TTE, who arranged for the first aid. He was given further medical assistance at Madurai. The
train arrived late at Tirunelveli junction 30 minutes late.
Rat menace should be addressed by the Railway authorities. If we have to show case our
Nation’s developed status, before introducing Top speed bullet trains, We need to maintain
cleanliness and hygiene in our trains.
